The failed romance between Samantha and Joey Essex was exposed by a former Love Island star, who also revealed her allegations that the two were “engineered.”
After a recoupling ceremony yesterday, in which Joey reconciled with an ex, Samantha was kicked out of the villa.
The Scouser had already made threats to quit the program after being moved to tears by Grace and Joey’s passionate kiss.
Munveer Jabbal, her co-star, has attested to the truth of Sam’s love for Joey.
He did reveal, though, that she felt “set up” by the producers.
Munveer said on FUBAR Radio that Samantha “literally just called me about an hour ago and she’s obviously livid, for obvious reasons.” Munveer’s summer of love was cut short last week.
“It was difficult to see the other day because, despite being so close to Samantha in the villa, it was obvious that she had deep affections for Joey that weren’t returned. No intimacy, no physical contact.
“Then Grace enters and gives her a straight lip-smack in front of her. She is obviously humiliated.
He continued by implying that producers may have played a role in arranging Samantha’s meeting with the TOWIE star, saying, “She feels that she wasn’t able to accomplish her goals and that part of it was staged.”
“She feels as though there were some circumstances in which her options were quite limited.
“I’m not suggesting it’s prearranged, but there are occasions when it can be challenging to go talk to someone because of scheduling and other factors. She just feels that things didn’t work out for her.”
He also made a suggestion that he agreed with fan claims claiming Grace and Joey staged their breakup on the ITV show in order to have a reunion.
“I believe you hit the nail on the head there, no smoke without fire,” Munveer remarked.
It appears from the way they entered that they have known one another for some time. That place has a past, but how strong is it? Who knows?
“She entered, and they quickly became romantically involved.
“As a class girl, Samantha has my deepest sympathy. Saying that she was a placeholder, she wrote it herself.
“It was sad to see because she actually had genuine feelings towards Joey.”
Following her harsh dumping, even Joey’s sister sent Samantha a message of support.
