Albert Square is set for an emotional reunion as EastEnders confirms the return of Rebecca ‘Bex’ Fowler, who will come back to Walford to grieve the loss of her father, Martin Fowler.
In Monday night’s episode (February 24, 2025), viewers will see Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) break the devastating news to Bex that Martin has passed away. Meanwhile, the rest of the community mourns his tragic loss.
In the following episodes, a heartbroken Bex makes her way back to Albert Square to support her mother and family as they say their final goodbyes to Martin. Struggling to come to terms with recent events—including Sonia’s imprisonment for murder and the arrival of her baby sister, Julia—Bex faces an emotional homecoming.
Jasmine Armfield reprises her role as Bex in a short return to the soap, five years after her departure in 2020. EastEnders executive producer Chris Clenshaw shared his excitement about her comeback, stating: “We’re thrilled to have Jasmine back for Martin’s farewell. Bex would never miss her father’s funeral, and Sonia needs her now more than ever. She’s been away for five years, gaining life experience, and she’s returning as a wiser, more mature version of herself.”
Bex was last seen in Walford when she decided to leave in search of new opportunities, embarking on a journey to travel the world.

Reflecting on her return, Jasmine Armfield said: “It’s a wonderful feeling to be back on EastEnders and reunite with so many familiar faces. For me, it’s a homecoming, but for Bex, it’s a heartbreaking moment as she deals with the loss of her dad. She’s changed a lot over the years, and viewers will see a more grown-up and evolved version of her this time around.”
