Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) finds himself heartbroken and furious as his fiancée, Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace), unexpectedly calls off their wedding in the latest episode of EastEnders (7:30 pm – check the TV Guide for listings).
After all the effort put into making their third attempt at love work, Alfie is left reeling. His dreams of a perfect wedding are dashed when Kat changes her mind at the last moment.
In the midst of this emotional turmoil, Kat turns to her friends, Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) and Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter), both of whom have plenty of relationship advice to offer. But while Kat seeks counsel from those close to her, Alfie is thrown a lifeline by someone completely unexpected, which leaves him wondering if there’s still a chance for their relationship.
The couple sits down for a heart-to-heart, but will Alfie be able to convince Kat to go through with their wedding after all?
Shane Richie, who plays Alfie, shares: “Alfie is devastated and angry. Everything was set up, and all Kat had to say was ‘I do.’ So when she calls off the wedding, it’s a nightmare for him. But, deep down, I think the audience wants to see them make it work. Everywhere I go, people ask when Kat and Alfie will finally get married!”
On a different note, Alfie’s son, Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall), is becoming a bad influence under the sway of his new friend, Joel Marshall (Max Murray). Joel’s disrespectful behavior, including secretly filming a private moment with Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James), shows his unhealthy attitude towards women. Encouraging Tommy to watch inappropriate adult content and follow misogynistic social media influencers, Joel is leading Tommy down a dangerous path.
With emotional upheaval at home and negative influences on the horizon, will Alfie and Kat’s future be in jeopardy? Stay tuned as the drama continues to unfold on EastEnders.
