Love Island viewers were amused when Joey Essex failed his spy audition.
On Thursday’s (July 18) program, the Islanders participated in their next game, ‘Couple Goals’, which required each couple to name another pairing after being questioned.
With tensions rising as the questions became more personal, the group was asked which couple was most likely to have their heads turned, but Joey made a mistake by revealing that he had participated in a’secret mission’ for Mimii a few days prior.
When the rest of the group asked what the mission entailed, Joey repeatedly stated that he couldn’t give the information, prompting Josh, among others, to question why he brought it up if he couldn’t reveal any details.
The event garnered laughter from viewers on social media, with the show’s official account remarking on X/Twitter: “Joey’s MI5 career is over before it even started #LoveIsland.” Viewers also responded, with one writing: “Sorry I love Joey”
“Jessy is actually Joey’s PR manager – I know she sweats whenever he speaks #LoveIsland” joked a second viewer. A third replied: “Joey has been a literally a reality TV star for 10+ years , why are we surprised he’s so messy #loveisland”
