Ekin-Su Culculoglu, a former Love Island contestant, has made a big career statement by saying she’s writing a tell-all memoir and taking a new direction. She says, “I’m done hiding and lying,” and her book promises to go into her childhood traumas, bullying experiences, and her previous connection with Davide Sanclimenti.

Ekin’s open admittance of her separation with Davide and her remorse over competing in Celebrity Big Brother earlier this year preceded the announcement of her memoir. Ekin first hinted at a potential change in her professional path on Instagram by posting the date 28.08.2024 in three different posts. An interview with The Sun revealed that Ekin will soon publish a book titled Be Your Own Best Friend.

“I have a book coming out that is all about me and the people I’ve met in life,” Ekin said in the interview. You will be familiar with my identity. You will understand my motivations for being who I am. She disclosed that the book will look at former relationships that left her feeling “abandoned” and “heartbroken,” as well as “childhood traumas” and severe bullying.

Her connection with her ex-boyfriend Davide, with whom she shared the 2022 Love Island title, will be covered in the memoir. Ekin made it clear, “I’m over hiding. This is my reality; I’m done lying to protect other people. She did point out that in addition to being a tell-all, the book will also provide readers with guidance.

Ekin also disclosed that the book ends with a heartfelt letter she sent to herself when she was ten years old, offering guidance she wishes she had been given. Ekin highlighted her wish to be respected for the real Ekin rather than the TV character, calling the writing process soothing. She voiced her frustration at not being able to completely share who she truly is.

The memoir’s publishing house, Little, Brown Book Group, used Instagram to herald the book’s debut, calling it a “honest and uplifting guide to life.” Offering never-before-heard anecdotes and an opportunity to comprehend the real Ekin-Su in her own words, they promised readers a peek into the lady behind the headlines and filters.

Despite being accused of being phony while competing on Celebrity Big Brother, Ekin took some time to think things through and then thanked her Instagram followers for their support. While thanking everyone for their generosity during her sabbatical, she also accepted that she needed to move past her TV appearances and prior relationships in order to heal and evolve.
